The Closing

    This was one the most interesting classes or courses that i have taken till today.  As one of the first classes taken under the American system it has been a very interesting class, not only for the things I have learn but also for the people I have met. How many things have I learn, is a question that I made myself a few times, and the answer is always the same: to many to count.  Probably one of the most important things that I have got out this experience is a friend, for me a friendship is a thing that just like knowledge is forever.  But if I talk about the most valuable that is a difficult question since both are almost as valuable. In a way I wish this course would last more time since the atmosphere is so different and it is more of camaraderie and happy atmosphere something that in my way of thinking is the right combination, needed to learn easy and fast. Finally I want to stress that was a great experience, and if I could I would have this atmosphere every I go, that would make many things easier, I am sure.  Thank You for Everything.

      The day was a scary one for Harry, it was the first day in the new job.  He had heard so many different things; this is a great place to work!  No this is a horrible place to work! you are so lucky! and the worst part was that all this comments were made by very credible people.  What to believe and what not to believe was the problem, of course that he was in the best place to work was what Harry wanted to believe. For him that time when he worked at his parents farm had been the best job ever.  But all that had been changed by time and modern technology, farms were a thing of the past now. One more thing has change the possibility of working long days out in the sun, and that reason were his kids.  Now he had to available for them, they are the most important thing for him, after God of course.  But now the door has closed behind him and it was time to embrace a new challenge.

What art?

     I have found that sometimes is hard to find art even if it is in front of me, the problem is that not all people consider art the same way.  Some people may think that few color line stroked in a blank sheets are art, while someone else may think the opposite. I have found that the solution, is to sample art from other artist, just to see what is consider art by a certain group of people.  For example if I want to take pictures of building or flowers, I go see samples of pictures taken by recognized artists and find out what they consider art or beautiful.  My friends have also recommended different website where I can find comment from people that see the pictures on-line and leave their opinion about what they see. I have found this to be very useful and it certainty has help me improve the quality of my art as well.  The good thing is that photography is a kind of art that is present everywhere, so I have plenty of possibilities.

How to store your pictures

     I have worked with pictures for many years by now and until a few years back I still encounter people that think that memory cards for digital cameras are like films that you could only use one time and once filled they have to buy a new memory card, that is not true but the question of how to store this pictures is still in the air. There are many storage options, one of them is to burn them in a CD or DVD if you choose this you can fit many pictures it has limits you can only fit a certain amount of pictures in them and they also have limited lifetime though is not a short period of time it is a limiting feature, as a second option we have our computer itself we can store many thousands of pictures in them and don't have to worry about space, but in this case we have what could be maybe the worst situation and that is that our computers can be affected by almost anything out of the ordinary that happens to them, things like virus or spyware can damage our computers and make us loose those precious pictures stored in them.  Finally we have external hard drives, this devices have also an almost infinite capability, they are also cheap and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and this also make portable.  Saving your pictures in a safe place is just as important as capturing that important moment of our lives.

    Shutter Lag

      Have you ever had to wait for a few seconds for your camera to take a picture?  This is called shutter lag.  Shutter lag is one of the most annoying things that a camera can have. What it causes it is that the camera needs a few second to get ready to take the next picture after it has taken one.  Many companies have taken various steps to try to prevent this deficiency on their cameras.  Some cameras can take up to a 2 seconds to be ready for the next picture. As a amateur photographer I have feel the effects of the two second lagging, which has cause many special moments to be lost forever.  Sadly one you have a camera that has this problem there is nothing that you can do to fix, except buy another camera that doesn't have this problem.  Modern new digital cameras have gotten away from this problem, yet if you are buying a new camera make sure it doesn't have shutter lagging.

Why photography

     Why is photography one of the best hobbies?   In my opinion is because is one that you can explore without being a professional or having to take long courses or having to go to school or having to get a license  or sometimes even without having to buy expensive equipment, you don't have to have the best camera out there, you even use your cellphone and still get the an amazing picture of a sunset, photography is present anywhere one can take a beautiful picture of a flower or an interesting picture of an insect, it also be an artistic black and white picture, or a full of color and contract picture.  You can also have an awesome picture taken in the city, or in the country, also the best picture can be taken at the beach or near a desert, all this can be done without having to spend a single dollar, and also it gives an individual the chance to have sometime for her/himself to relax and see something beautiful.

      The best camera is one that has the essential functions an everyday user may need.

• It must have a desired zoom.

          many people don't know that there is two kinds of zooms, on one hand we have the digital zoom, which is not a real zoom since the camera is no getting closer to the subject but rather making it bigger in and artificial way, the zoom that you actually are looking for is the optical zoom what this means is that the camera is actually getting closer to subject when using this kind of zoom.

• Get a known brand.

          Some brands are better than others, that is a fact that we can't denied but it also true that is better idea to get a known brand that a brand that you have never seen, first you get better support in case you were to need it, also better guarantees this can mean that if anything goes wrong you maybe able to repair the camera for free or cheap, or maybe even replace it if need to.

•  Get the camera size that is best for you.

           This is can mean the difference between having a good experience when taking a picture or having the worst time of your life, one must decide what kind of camera one want, it can be small that can fit in one's pocket or purse or big with all the bells and whistles a camera can have.

Digital is better than Film

      Digital photography has change how people take pictures, it is easier and better in some ways especially when it come to ways to save those pictures, in one hand you don't need photo albums anymore those used a lot of space in the closet, the shelf or anywhere you store them, also the last longer a digital photograph is one that can last forever you don't have to have only one copy but instead have hundreds of them in different places, you can also send them anywhere in the world with a touch of a button,in conclusion digital photography is very flexible and versatile.  In contrast film photography is preferred by professionals in this field that believe that nothing compares to film for them is just part of the art of taking pictures, they have the opinion that is not only the best kind of photography but almost the only way to take pictures, this photographers don't mind having many rolls of film in their bags, and have special places where they store no only their negatives but also their photo albums, this photographers believe that they can literally live in both worlds, the digital and  and the "non-digital" since now days is easy to scan a film and transferred it a CD or DVD and have that film in a digital form too, filling this way what it can be a disadvantage in this digital era.

Computer Cases Classification

Have you ever wondered why or how is it that computers seem to be of different now days?  The truth is that computers only come in three different classifications, the first one is full case computer, this computer is a computer made especially for businesses this computer includes a lot of hardware many hard drives an in some cases more than one DVD or CD burner device, they use a lot of space and that is why are made almost exclusively for businesses, the second classification is called mini computer or mini case this computer case is smaller than the last one, yet it is still quite big for now days standards, this case though is made for personal or as a  home computer can sometimes hardly fit under your desk, in this case this computers only has one hard drive and one DVD/CD burner.  Lastly is the micro computer or micro case this computer is the one we use in college and as we can see it is so small that can be easily put on top of the table or even under the monitor, it is very light weight and compact the best part is that even when is so small we still have the essential parts of any computer, with its DVD/CD burner and single hard drive.  Computers have change a lot in last years and the most visible way to see this changes is in the size of their cases.

Film Processing

     Film processing has change a lot since the times when it needed to be process in a dark room, this process has been simplified with the use of machines that make this task faster, safer, and easier.   After the pictures have been taken by the camera and roll of film has been put back in its canister the film needs to be extracted one more time but this time just enough to be taped to a plastic card that will lead the film into the chemicals that will converted into a negative, the film processing machine develops the  film and now is ready to be printed.   Once in its state as a negative the film is taken to the paper processing machine or printer, where is check by a technician to make sure the negative is not damage in any way, it is put in special machine that scans and displays the pictures in a screen, after pressing a few buttons the film starts to be printed.  In the next step the negative is cut in short strips to make it easier to re-print it if needed in the future, it cut in a machine that measures just the right length the negative should have, it is put in sleeve that protect it  from dust and other elements.  Finally the already printed pictures are inserted together with the negative in an envelope and put in a bin or basket, just ready for a customer to pick them up.
